As of August 1, 2022, the Cambridge Association of REALTORS® and the Kitchener-Waterloo Association of REALTORS® amalgamated to become the Waterloo Region Association of REALTORS® (WRAR). WRAR has been operating for just over three months, and many of you may be familiar with the interim logo we have been using, consisting of three peaks pointing in an upwards direction and followed by our association’s name.
Today, we are excited to launch WRAR’s NEW logo:
Over the past several months, WRAR engaged a third-party local graphic designer to design a new look for our recently amalgamated association that is bolder and provides a more cohesive visual identity.
Approved by the board of directors at their most recent meeting, this new logo marks a new chapter for our association and reflects our members’ professionalism, passion, and true potential within the real estate industry. The bold new look also reflects our commitment to you and our mission is stronger than ever!
While our official name is the Waterloo Region Association of REALTORS®, we often refer to ourselves as “WRAR”, so we decided to make the acronym the main element of the design. Another key element to the logo design is the integration of the Waterloo Region map into the letter “A” of the WRAR acronym to reflect our association’s boundaries including Kitchener, Waterloo, and Cambridge, along with the townships of North Dumfries, Wellesley, Wilmot, and Woolwich.
Developing the new logo is only part of the overall development of a new brand for WRAR. A brand is more than just about how we look and equally focuses on who we are. This is something we will continue to develop and stress in the coming months. Over the next few weeks, you’ll see all the other visuals surrounding WRAR aligning with this new look, including other areas of our website, social media pages, member systems, and advertising. However, rest assured, it’s still us. We’re still WRAR. But bolder and more instantly recognizable.
The Waterloo Region Association of REALTORS®️ (WRAR) is a new association that has been formed through the recent amalgamation between the Cambridge Association of REALTORS®️ and Kitchener-Waterloo Association of REALTORS®️. We have a new name, a fresh start, but the same awesome REALTOR®️ community—just better together! While WRAR officially began offering member services on August 1, 2022, the two previous associations have over 150 years of combined experience. We are proud to support the needs of REALTORS®️ and brokerages serving one of Canada’s fastest growing and thriving communities—Waterloo Region.
The term REALTOR®️ is a trademark identifying members in good standing of the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) who provide real estate brokerage services in compliance with CREA’s By-Laws and Rules, the REALTOR®️ Code, and all applicable federal and provincial laws and regulations. WRAR’s MLS®️ System is operated in association with the MLS®️ marks owned by CREA. An MLS®️ System includes an inventory of listings of participating REALTORS®️, and ensures a certain level of accuracy of information, professionalism, and co-operation amongst REALTORS®️ to affect the purchase and sale of real estate.
