Region of Waterloo, ON (June 29, 2023) – The Waterloo Region Association of REALTORS® (WRAR) is proud to announce that it has donated $86,256 to two local healthcare organizations, the Cambridge Memorial Hospital Foundation (CMHF) and Lisaard & Innisfree Hospice. During WRAR’s Launch Party held on June 21st, at Tapestry Hall in Cambridge, cheques in the amount of $43,128 were presented to each organization.
“WRAR is pleased to make this donation to the Cambridge Memorial Hospital Foundation and the Lisaard & Innisfree Hospice,” said Megan Bell, President of WRAR. “Our members are deeply invested in the well-being of our community, and we are honoured to support these exceptional organizations that provide essential healthcare services to the people living in our communities.”
The WRAR Launch Party served as an opportunity to celebrate the association’s first year as it approaches its anniversary after amalgamating the Kitchener-Waterloo and Cambridge boards. This event brought together WRAR members, guests from neighbouring real estate associations, and stakeholders.
Val Brooks, Past President of WRAR, acknowledged the commitment made by the former Cambridge Board (CAOR), saying, “We are pleased to fulfill the commitment CAOR made to two vital local organizations – the Cambridge Memorial Hospital Foundation and Lisaard & Innisfree Hospice.” The donation presented at the Launch Party honoured the 5-year donation pledge of $2 from monthly dues that members approved during the 2019 Annual Meeting.
In keeping with the pledge, the WRAR Board of Directors presented the remaining funds of the association’s pledge. This contribution will support the continued provision of essential services and care to the Cambridge community.
