“This momentous vote brings our members one step closer to belonging to Cornerstone Association of REALTORS®, a new Association poised to provide the tools REALTORS® want and need,” says Christal Moura, President of WRAR. “By harnessing the power of collaboration, the new organization will strengthen and empower REALTORS® with technology providers, consumers, government, and other stakeholders.”
“I am beyond thrilled to be elected by our board to serve as WRAR’s first elected president,” said Moura. “Interestingly, I will likely serve as WRAR’s last president too, as members have voted in favour of yet another exciting amalgamation that will see WRAR become the Cornerstone Association of REALTORS® next year.”
“With the unwavering contributions of our gracious sponsors, compassionate donors, active community members, and dedicated volunteers, we are thrilled to be in the position to continue to support such a great cause in our community,” said Megan Bell, President of the WRAR. “WRAR takes immense pride in the partnership with Habitat for Humanity Waterloo Region, an organization dedicated to turning the dreams of affordable housing into a reality for our community.”
The Board of Directors of the REALTORS® Association of Hamilton-Burlington (RAHB), the Waterloo Region Association of REALTORS® (WRAR), the Simcoe & District Real Estate Board (SDREB), and the Mississauga Real Estate Board (MREB) are pleased to announce that SDREB and MREB have signed a letter of intent to join the amalgamation of the four organizations to bring our REALTORS® Together in the region.
“Almost four in ten Waterloo residents are spending more than 30 per cent of their total household income on housing,” said Megan Bell, President of WRAR. “The bottom line is the high cost of housing is being driven by a lack of attainable housing supply in the region. The problem is particularly bad among millennials and young people.”
